Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how STACK (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website (the “Site”). We keep things minimal: STACK is a curated affiliate showroom, not a store, so we do not ask you to create an account, and we do not process payments.
Information we collect
Information you provide
The public Site does not require you to submit personal information to browse products. If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include in that message.
Newsletter: STACK does not run its own mailing list. If you enter your email in the newsletter sign-up, you are subscribing to the SBC Media newsletter, which is operated by SBC Media and delivered through Brevo. We pass your email address to that list (noting that you signed up on STACK). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: basic, aggregated analytics such as which products are viewed and how often affiliate links are clicked. This helps us decide what to feature and powers features like “Most popular this week”. We store anonymous daily view and click counts per product — not tied to your identity.
- Analytics tools: we use Google Analytics 4 (page views, how visitors find and use the Site) and may use Microsoft Clarity (heatmaps and anonymised session recordings that show how pages are used). These services set their own cookies and process data such as your IP address, device and browser details under their own privacy policies (Google, Microsoft). If you're in the EU/EEA, the UK or Switzerland, analytics cookies stay off until you accept them in the cookie banner (we use Google's consent mode, so without consent Google receives only cookieless signals). Anyone can change their choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
- Approximate location: we use your approximate country (derived from your IP address by our host, Netlify, or — if that isn't available — by the ipapi.co service) to show prices converted into your local currency, using exchange rates from open.er-api.com. We don't store your location.
- Technical data: our hosting provider (Netlify) and the retailers we link to may automatically log standard request information such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps for security and operational purposes.
- Local storage: we use your browser’s local storage to remember display preferences (light/dark theme, shelf or grid layout), products you save or add to a comparison, which categories you browse most (so we can show those first), and, for administrators, a login session token. This data stays in your browser.
- Offline cache: the Site installs a service worker that keeps a copy of the showroom on your device so it loads instantly and can be browsed offline. You can clear it from your browser's site settings.
How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site.
- To understand which products are popular (aggregate click counts) and curate the showroom.
- To attribute affiliate referrals to STACK so partner retailers can credit qualifying purchases.
- To protect the Site against abuse and to comply with legal obligations.
Affiliate links & third parties
The Site contains affiliate links. When you click one, you are taken to a third-party retailer (e.g., Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Walmart, Target). Those retailers have their own privacy policies that govern any information they collect once you leave STACK. We add tracking parameters (such as UTM tags and affiliate IDs) to outbound links so a referral can be attributed to us. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of third-party sites. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
Service providers
We host the Site and its product database on Netlify. Product data and anonymous analytics are stored using Netlify’s infrastructure (including Netlify Blobs). Newsletter sign-ups are handled by Brevo for the SBC Media newsletter. Depending on the features in use, the Site may also rely on Google (Analytics, AdSense), Microsoft (Clarity), and OneSignal (push notifications). These providers process data on our behalf or as independent services under their own terms.
Push notifications
If you choose to turn on deal alerts, your browser registers for push notifications through OneSignal. We may then send you new deals, the Deal of the Day, and price drops on products you saved on this device (OneSignal stores which product IDs you saved for this purpose). You can turn notifications off at any time in your browser's site settings. See OneSignal's privacy policy.
Cookies & advertising
STACK itself does not set advertising cookies. The analytics tools described above set their own cookies. On some pages we may show an ad served by Google AdSense; Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads — see how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Third-party retailers and affiliate networks you click through to may also set their own cookies.
Your choices
- You can clear your browser’s local storage at any time to reset preferences.
- You can unsubscribe from the SBC Media newsletter using the link in any newsletter email, and turn off push notifications in your browser settings.
- You can block analytics and advertising cookies with your browser settings or extensions; the showroom still works.
- You can decline to click affiliate links; browsing does not require it.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Contact us to make a request.
Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
